Here are links to various The Colonel's Bequest and Sierra On-Line-related websites, that we thought are interesting to fans of the game and genre in general.
The Colonel's Bequest-related
Sierra Planet - Laura Bow 1
SierraPlanet.com is a general Sierra site, but their The Colonel's Bequest coverage is such extensive that it should
be mentioned in this section too. Very much recommended.
QuestStudios: The Colonel's Bequest Digital Soundtrack
The soundtrack of The Colonel's Bequest as it was meant to be heard: directly recorded from the Roland MT32 synthesizer. QuestStudios
provides the music in the digital OGG format (superior to MP3, but often a special codec is required to listen to these kind of files).
They also provide front/back covers for a CD if you want to burn the music to a audio CD.
Moby Games on The Colonel's Bequest
MobyGames, the IMDB of computer games, also has a lot of information about The Colonel's Bequest releases on all formats,
including screenshots. Of course it also describes the sequel.
Sites dedicated to specific Sierra series/game/authors
SpaceQuest.net
Unfortunately not maintained anymore, but this is probably the biggest and most detailed Space Quest-related site ever.
Freddy Pharkas Frontier Pharmacist
This site is fully dedicated to the Freddy Pharkas game by Al Lowe, a great game released by Sierra in 1993/1994.
Quest For More Glory
A huge site about Sierra's Quest for Glory (once called Hero's Quest) series.
AlLowe.com
The personal site of Al Lowe, creator of the various Leisure Suit Larry adventure games. Contains a lot of information
about his games. A visit is highly recommended.
Sierra On-Line-related
Sierra Gamers Sierra Gamers is created by Ken Williams, the founder and longtime CEO of Sierra On-Line. The site contains a lot of scans of the Sierra Magazine (not only the covers, but also the contents) in PDF format. Be sure to read the Sierra News Magazine Autumn 1989 magazine, as it contains a lot of inside information on the creating of The Colonel's Bequest!
Vintage Sierra
A site containing a lot of photos of the contents of game packages of various Sierra game releases. Also scans of covers of
newsletters, Sierra Magazine covers and many other things, like articles by (ex)Sierra employees. A great on-line reference.
